Resident Owned Parks, Inc., the nonprofit owner and manager of mobilehome communities has announced that John G. Tennyson has joined its Board of Directors.  For 26 years, John Tennyson served as the principal consultant to the Senate Select Committee on Manufactured Homes and Communities at the State Capitol in Sacramento.  Known to thousands of mobilehome owners throughout the State, John Tennyson served as the principal consultant on the Senate Select Committee when it was first established by the late Senator Bill Craven of Oceanside.  John continued to serve as the principal consultant after the retirement of Bill Craven and the appointment of Senator Joe Dunn as chair.  At the time of his retirement in 2010, John continued to serve as principal consultant to State Senator Lou Correa who became chair of the committee following retirement of Senator Joe Dunn.  During his 26 years of service at the State Capitol John helped draft and analyze over 150 pieces of legislation relating to manufactured homes, mobilehomes, manufactured housing communities, common interest developments, and recreational vehicle parks.  He is also versed in housing and local government law, having previously or simultaneously served as bill analyst and consultant to the Assembly and Senate Local Government Committees, and as the manufactured housing consultant for the Housing and Community Development Committee. John is a Vietnam Vet and graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento.
